"...wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." ~ Psalm 51:7
We've been in a very interesting season lately. Things are changing. The weather forecasters were recently baffled by the 'inverted' weather patterns experienced across North America which caused warmer temperatures on December 25th in New York City while many people experienced an unusually cold California Christmas in Los Angeles! Here in Canada everything was very green (which is abnormal in December!)... until January 1st... the first day of this year... when I delightfully awoke to a beautiful blanket of snow covering as far as I could see as I watched the beautiful snowflakes falling fresh to the ground. My instant thought was '2015 is in the past... and 2016 is a fresh start!' I love it when God speaks through signs. So many people I've spoken to over this first week of the year have shared with me their excitement about a new beginning. There is such a sense of God doing SOMETHING new in this season... He's giving us a fresh start... a clean slate. This is my prayer for you this month:
"Father, in the name of Jesus... I thank You that You have redeemed us from the curse of the past. Lord, I thank You that you have wiped our slate clean by the power of your cleansing blood. We receive this fresh start... this new beginning... and we ask for a new sensitivity to move and be led by Your Spirit of Glory. We want to follow You with all of our hearts and give our lives to You fully. May this year of 2016 be the year when we come into some of the promises that we've held onto for a long time. Give us fresh vision for this new beginning in Jesus' precious name... Amen."
Look forward... don't look back... that's not where you're going. Keep your eyes focused this season on your new beginnings in the Glory! There is a great big beautiful horizon prepared for you... the Holy Spirit has created it for you to explore. Don't be afraid in this season... fear is in the past... but faith is NOW! Go ahead... take new territory... step out in faith... dare to dream with God and allow His vision to become yours.
"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." ~ Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
